Dr. Demorest spent many years in Asia studying Chinese medicine, then returned to Canada to obtained her certification in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She also has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from UBC, and has worked for many years in the mental health field. This combination of education and experience has given her a deep understanding of Chinese medicine combined with more Western approaches, which enables her to develop health treatment plans that address both mind and body.

Dr. Demorest used this east/west approach in establishing a landmark acupuncture detox program for alcohol and drug addicts residing in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. This incredibly effective program continues today.

Louise Demorest continues to be an advocate for TCM locally, nationally and internationally. In addition to instructing, she provides her expertise on legislature and governance of TCM policies and practices at an international level.
